Local Area Guides
Cabin Resource Guide
Here is our growing resource guide for your stay, including instructions and videos on how to use the amenities in the cabin.
In the Cabin…
Setting up RokuTV and your streaming services
All our rooms include their own Roku TVs, and these TVs are configured in guest mode, which allows you to set your checkout date and enter your streaming logins of choice. With guest mode, the TV will automatically log you out of your streaming services on your check out date. The remotes can be used with any of the TVs, and you can also download the Roku App on iOS or Android to use as a remote on your phone.
How to use the Keurig coffee maker
You’ll find the coffee maker in the kitchen next to the sink. The Keurig machine allows you to brew coffee two ways
1. With flat filters and ground coffee using the carafe
2. Individually served with a Keurig pod
How to light the pilot light in the fireplace
The fireplace in the living room is powered by gas. The pilot light should be lit already upon your arrival. In case it isn’t or it blew out, it’s easy to re-light.
How to install the baby gate
We love having babies stay at our cabin, and baby safety is important. Here are the instructions for installing the baby gate at the top of the stairs.
How to run the dishwasher
I realize that not all dishwashers are the same, so I wanted to make this instructional video to show how to turn on the dishwasher, choose your preferred cycle, and how to cancel a wash.
Outside the Cabin…
Access to our Community Pool
You’ll have full access to Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli and their catch and release fishing pond. It offers a large outdoor pool, kiddie pool, picnic tables, a catch & release fishing pond, and a deli. It’s a 6min drive down the road and open every day from 10a-6p, seasonally between May – Oct.
Mention you are with “Smoky Mountains Lodge” and that’ll get you in at no charge.
Grilling on the BBQ
There is a charcoal BBQ on the upper level lawn to the left of the front door. Please bring your own charcoal. There are BBQ tools (flipper, brush, etc.) in one of the drawers in the kitchen island. When finished grilling, please put used charcoal/ash in the ash bucket that is next to the BBQ.
Playing corn hole in the backyard
The cabin comes with a corn hole set & bean bags, just off the lower porch. This is a great area to play corn hole, play catch with a football, or frisbee. There’s a rack on one of the posts to put the corn hole boards and a basket for the bean bags when you’re done with them.
Where to pickup firewood for our outdoor fire pit
We have a wonderful outdoor fire pit for you to enjoy the crackling sounds of fire while roasting s’mores. With 8 chairs around the fire pit, there is ample seating for your group to share campfire stories. Be sure to pickup firewood on your way up, as we do not regularly stock firewood. You’ll be able to get firewood at these places
- Ace Hardware in Townsend
- 1404 Wears Valley Rd for $10/bundle
- Local Grocery Stores
- Local Gas Stations
